Shipping a Cat or Kitten on an Airplane
When geographically possible, we like to meet our potential adopting families and learn about their home, family, environment as well as other animals in the household to ensure we pair our babies with the right family.
However, this is not always an option. When this is the case, we have a couple of options for shipping your Maine Coon kitten to you.
We can ship your baby on an airplane within the contiguous US via air cargo according to weather conditions acceptable as set forth by the United States Department of Agriculture. No cat or kitten can be shipped in inclement weather or when the temperatures are too cold or too hot.
We can also ship your new baby via a Pet Nanny service if you prefer your new baby be accompanied during their travel. The costs to ship your new baby are the responsibility of the adopting family and may require an additional visit to our veterinarian to obtain a health certificate, depending upon the age of your baby they may require certain additional vaccinations as well as an airline approved shipping crate or carrier.
Please reach out to us to learn more about our kittens. We’d love to talk to you about your next baby!
Shipping via Air Cargo ranges approximately $300-$600 which typically includes your health and/or acclimation certificates, any additional vaccinations that may be required and a shipping kennel approved by the airlines.
We will make travel arrangements once payment in full has been made and will not reserve a flight or book with the pet nanny until payment has been received.
Different airlines fly to different destinations and all of them have slightly different ways of handling their pet programs.
